Lobzang Wangtak, hails from Zanskar, Ladakh. Over a span of 10 years he has led groups from around the world in Ladakh. Spanning from running study-programs, expedition, to dharma tours.
He showed keen interest in Buddhism on his visit to Dharamsala when he was just 17 years old. The Dharma classes would usually be accompanied by people four times his age. Since then, he developed a broader understanding of the world and life itself.
Since 2014 he has been involved directly in climate adaptation techniques such as Artificial Glaciers and Ice-Stupas. He is also an environmentalist, and a water conservationist and cofounder of Navikarana Trust that provides water solutions to perched villages facing water scarcity.
His organisation has provided solutions to 8 villages, and three monasteries in Zanskar so far. He advocates for a sustainable policy in the Himalayas, he believes this could be only achieved by understanding the vitality of glaciers, the source of all lives.
He is passionate about taking people to his region and provide them with an experience that transform themselves and if not then a memory of a lifetime.
Currently, he is also working on a documentary film which is an attempt to give a local narrative to the stories they have to tell about themselves (Zanskaris).
